The effects of the Driving Licenses Based on Points Systems: a comparison between Synthetic Control methods and Interactive Fixed Effects approaches

I study the effect of the modification or introduction of the Driving Licenses Based on Points Systems (PS) for a number of European countries by using different methods: a) Synthetic Control Methods and b) Interactive Fixed Effects. Results show that in most countries the introduction of PS was positive and significant. In this particular case, the comparison shows that Synthetic Control methods outperform Interactive Fixed Effects methodology.
