Call for Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellowships (MSCA 2023)
The Department of Economics (Departamento de Fundamentos del Análisis Económico, FAE) has joined the call for Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellowships (MSCA 2023).
Our aim is to consolidate a human team that sustains the highest quality standards both in research and teaching. We encourage top quality research by providing a modern infrastructure to all faculty and a stimulating environment for interaction. We organize several seminars every week. Our Department is typically ranked among the top-5 Spanish Economics Departments on the basis of research output and is one of the most productive European Departments in per capita terms. The core of the Department consists of about 40 full-time faculty members who got their degrees from top universities from all over the world.
Research fields are quite varied, and cover most areas in modern economic research, but can be classified into three principal areas:
1) Behavioral and Experimental Economics
2) Applied Economics (Development, Labor, Health, Education)
3) Macroeconomics and Finance
We have a graduate program in Economics which is an American style full-time program taught entirely in English. The program provides students with a thorough theoretical and practical training in microeconomics, macroeconomics and econometrics, as well as specialization in applied fields. The aim of the program is to prepare students for professional careers in universities, public and private research organizations, international institutions, consultancy and business.
Our department has an excellent track experience in attracting talent. In the last 10 years, the list of new members of the department include both junior and senior researchers. New junior faculty include M. Battaglia (Bocconi U.), C. Cueva (Cambridge U.), L. Franjo (Carlos III Madrid), D. Jimenez (MIT), E. Murard, T. Molina, and E. Jung (Paris School of Economics), J. Andrés (U. Colorado), M. Hernández (Georgetown U.), L. Matiyskova (CERGE-EI), S. Tonini (U. Trento).
New senior members include Iván Payá formerly at Lancaster U., Julián Messina, formerly at the Inter-American Development Bank, and Han Bleichrodt, formerly at Erasmus University.
