Development Economics

About

Development economics focuses on the many causes and consequences of poverty in developing countries. Development economists study the impact of economic shocks and/or natural disasters on child health, the relationship between child health and adult outcomes, the effects of public goods on the lives of the poor, the connection between political accountability and economic prosperity, and the determinants of corruption and its role in hindering economic growth, among other topics.

Development economics focuses on the many causes and consequences of poverty in developing countries.
